Courtney Huang

Events Coordinator

Hi! I'm Courtney and I'm a high school senior. I first joined the CYI community in the Summer of 2019 as part of SLI. I'm honored to be a coordinator for Chinatown Beautification Day this year and am looking forward to our event! Oh and some fun facts: I've worked at a zoo before, I love doing karaoke, and my favorite food is dumplings with pork and cabbage.

Raya Islam

Workshop Coordinator

Hi! My name is Raya Islam and I am a sophomore at Emory University. I am Bengali American, and being an activist and ally to all minorities has always been incredibly important to me. I am honored to be part of this year’s Chinatown Beautification Day planning team as Workshop Coordinator, and hope to see you all there!

Chris is a current senior at Hunter College High School. He is thrilled to join Chinatown Beautification Day 2021 to help foster and develop conversations about community, healing and growth within the Chinatown community this year. In addition to being a member of MinKwon Center's Youth Organizing Committee, he is also the co-president of his school's Hunter Immigrant Youth Alliance. He became interested in being part of CBD after attending their conference in 2020, and is super excited to be helping organize CBD's 2021 conference as a member of the team this year. In his free time, he enjoys reading, making origami and playing volleyball!

Hey, I’m Aurora!  I’m a senior at Brooklyn Tech in the Law and Society major but I live in Flushing. Queens.  You might recognize me from Key Club or H.O.P.E. or from around the city.  I remember being an officer at CBD last year and I’m really excited to be coordinating this year. Fun Fact! This photo was taken on CBD last year :) I also like to play the clarinet, write research papers, take photos, and listen to music. See you at CBD <3

Isabella Lee

Advisor

Hi! My name is Isabella and my pronouns are she/her. I have been involved in many community advocacy programs and worked closely on issues impacting Asian Americans and other marginalized groups in our community. I believe that cultivating a shared analysis of the root causes of the problems in our community through events like CBD would help connect people to social movements that can address these issues. Other than that, I have a lot of random past time hobbies that I rotate around with including baking, reading, painting, and crocheting!

Hi everyone! My name is Brian and I’m a first-generation Chinese American. I’ve been involved with the Chinatown community since elementary school and joined CBD last year as a representative. This year I’m delighted to be the finance coordinator as well as managing our stunning website. Check it out if you haven’t! Fun Fact: I’ve tried pistachio ice cream and it’s pretty good! I can’t wait to meet y’all at CBD 2021!
